Noura Mint Seymali

Noura Mint Seymali is a nationally beloved star and one of Mauritania’s foremost musical emissaries. Born into a prominent line of Moorish griot, Noura began her career at age 13 as a supporting vocalist with her stepmother, the legendary Dimi Mint Abba.

Skaramagas Camp in Athens: El Sistema in Greece

Debra Levine and I spent this morning visiting Skaramagas Camp in Athens, a refugee camp comprised of containers on the port, housing about 3,200 migrants, mostly Syrian, Afghani, Pakistani and Kurdish, about half of whom are children. Most of the camp are intact families.
