It was so energizing to be in the Zoom room with our Wavelengths community this past January, we couldn’t wait another year! Save the date for a bite-sized Summer Wavelengths: Global Music Conference on Friday, June 25 (12pm - 4pm ET).
This summer’s sessions are focused on ethical practices in the arts, responsible and equitable reopening procedures, and cooperation within the community.
To make another Wavelengths event possible this year, we’ve added a small Pay What You Can fee to attend — however, no one will be turned away. Suggested value for the day is $20, but please feel free to give what is most comfortable for you and your financial circumstances at this moment.

This year's annual Wavelengths: Global Music Conference, one of the largest gatherings of world music professionals in North America, took place virtually over Zoom on Friday, January 29 + Saturday, January 30. It highlighted important conversations on urgent issues facing the international music ecosystem, from agents/managers and presenters to artists and media. We reconnected with intention, moving away from the hypothetical and into the real and practical.
Each day include an opening reflection as well as panels, breakout sessions, and fast-paced one-on-one meetings to catch up with familiar faces or make new connections in our community. During Friday's session, we also took a moment for celebration in an otherwise difficult year, recognizing outstanding individuals and efforts within our global music field with a virtual globalFEST 2021 Awards Ceremony.

A music supervisor oversees all aspects of music in a project. This can include everything from working with a composer to pitching songs to managing a budget to negotiating deals — the list goes on. Should music publishing be a part of your outreach strategy? It’s an area that our field has not paid enough attention to, but is now more important than ever to understand as a possible revenue stream. We’ll discuss what music supervisors are looking for, discuss the ins and outs of music publishing and get tips on how to get your material in front of the right ears and into TV shows and films.

The globalFEST Assist Fund
Wavelengths: Global Music Conference at APAP|NYC is the largest gathering of world music professionals in North America. Produced by globalFEST, the two-day world music forum is held at the Association for Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) conference in New York each January, and is free and open to the public. The conference includes lively discussions and workshops on the latest issues in the world music field, and is geared towards all industry professionals including artist, agents, managers, presenters, press, and more.
